  Bar is either old/outdated, or vintage, depending on your perspective. There is a definite smell that reminds one of stale beer and fraternity houses... But this could either be a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for.
  That being said, this place has been here forever, and if you are looking to either engage in or reminisce on University of Florida customs, Salty Dog is a great place to go! If you are looking for a classy bar to pass your time in Gainesville, look elsewhere.
  Drinks are cheap, entertainment is usually great during normal "drinking" hours, and the food is representativly reliable for bar cuisine.
